BARRE FAQ

What is CB Barre?

Our CB Barre class is a fun class set to music rooted in the concepts of Corre Barre-Smart Movement®.

CORE BARRE™ is a high energy, low impact, fat burning workout. Its focus is on intensive movements that sculpt the thighs, tone and firm the glutes, flatten the abdominals and define the arms. Focused and isolated stretching to lengthen, tone and increase joint flexibility compliments a total body workout. CORE BARRE™ incorporates current biomechanical principles of Pilates, ballet and general fitness concepts and is available to all fitness levels for those that safely want to change their appearance and have fun doing so.

How are barre classes at CoreBalance different?

We limit our class size so that the instructor can pay attention to your form and make sure you are doing the exercises safely and effectively. We show different options to accommodate all fitness levels. All of our Barre instructors are not only certified in Barre, but have comprehensive Pilates certifications, which means a deeper understanding of the body and proper biomechanics.

Do I have to have a dance background to do CB Barre?

No! No prior dance experience is necessary. The movements are simple to learn. The beauty of barre class is that everyone works in small movements and can limit or expand their range of motion to suit their fitness level.

Do I have to wear special socks?

No, you may go barefoot or wear grip socks if you prefer. Regular socks would not be recommended because you could slip. We have grip socks for sale at the studio if you would like to purchase.

Will Barre class help me lose weight?

Yes! CB Barre class will get you moving! The exercises target your largest muscle groups and keeps them working at an intense pace. This combination of strength and endurance training boosts the volume of energy you burn every moment during the class. You will increase density in muscle fiber, making your body more efficient at burning calories all day.

Can I do Barre class if I am pregnant?

Yes, as long as you are cleared to exercise by a physician. You may need to make some modifications, but due to the low impact, controlled and focused nature of the workout, CB Barre is an ideal pregnancy workout.
